Here are 5 things to know about in the Patchogue and Medford area today! Check the events section for more.

1. Patchogue-Medford High School was awarded $80,000 in technology from placing in the top five in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest. Patch attended the award ceremony in New York City Thursday.

2. PMHS All School Musical: 42nd Street, , 181 Buffalo Ave., Medford, 7 p.m.
The show will be held in the auditorium. Admission is $13. Shows will also be held on April 8 and 9.

3. Varsity boys tennis and boys lacrosse will have home games at  Friday. The tennis team will play Mount Sinai at 3:30 p.m. and lacrosse plays East Islip at 4 p.m.

4. , , 41 E Main St, Patchogue, 7:30 p.m.-11 p.m.
Open mic night will take place at the coffeehouse.

5. Friday’s live music in Patchogue includes Like It Was at 9 p.m. at , 70 W Main St., and Urban Acoustic at , 67 W Main St., at 10 p.m.
