PMHS Student To Receive Computing Award

Brittany Zeo recognized by National Center for Women & Information Technology.

Patchogue-Medford High School student Brittany Zeo has been selected to receive the 2012 National Center for Women & Information Technology's (NCWIT) Award for Aspirations in Computing for the New York/Tri-State area.

The coalition works to increase diversity in IT and computing. NCWIT believes that greater diversity will create a larger and more competitive workforce, and promote the design of technology that is as broad and innovative as the population it serves. NCWIT focuses on improving diversity across the entire spectrum: K-12 through college education, and on to academic,corporate and entrepreneurial careers.

Zeo was recognized for her computing-related aspirations and for her demonstrated, outstanding aptitude and interest in information technology/computing, solid leadership ability, good academic history and plans for post-secondary education.

Zeo is currently in the Honors Computer Science course. Zeo has taken all four of the Computer Science courses offered at PMHS.
