Police Seeking Hit-And-Run Driver Who Struck Girl in Medford

A 14-year-old girl was hit on Horseblock Road Monday night, police say.

Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who struck a 14-year-old girl Monday night in Medford on Horseblock Road near Ohio Avenue.

The girl was walking along the shoulder on the eastbound side of the road when what is believed to be either a dark-colored SUV or a pick-up truck struck her at 9:10 p.m.

The vehicle suffered front-end damage to the front passenger side. Police said the victim, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital for treatment of a broken leg.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash award of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is being asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-200-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
