Sound Off: Your Favorite Toy Ever?

'Tis the season that toys are on everyone's minds, as kids write letters to Santa and parents tussle over the hottest items. Take our poll on your favorite all-time toy and share your memories in the comments!

There is a great blog making its way around Facebook these days - even though it was originally posted almost a year ago.

We think it is seeing a resurgence because this is the time of year that toys are in the spotlight.

For author Jonathan Liu, the Five Best Toys Of All Time are found right under our noses - and they are cheap too.

Meanwhile, over at Amazon, you can track the most popular toys in the world right now on its Best Sellers in Toys and Games Page. Number one on the list gives us great hope for the future.

Of course all of this got us to thinking - what was our favorite toy when we were kids? Take our poll, and please, add your thoughts to the comments. There is nothing better than a walk down memory lane!

I loved Play-Doh as a child. My mom used to lay out a plastic table cloth on the floor and I used to play for hours.

Hands down, Sit 'n Spin. I think I was on that thing until I was 12 and could barely wrap my legs around it. I also spoke to imaginary friends while on it, but that's probably TMI.

So funny what we liked.. i had that barbie head that you screwed to the kitchen table and made up with makeup and hairstyles.. i tortured that head... and a real blackboard that flipped over and had a green board on the other side.. pent hours acting like a 'teacher' to my dolls..

I had both of those toys and they were great!! The table with the green peg board had a seat that was attached to it right?

I loved my Rowlf Muppet, my teddy bear Francis, Atari and my "life-sized" doll who I named Crystal. And my friend had a Sit N Spin, which was cool. Always wanted a Cabbage Patch kid, but never got one...oh well!

I was very busy--Disneykins, my Barbie dolls and her dream house, Suzie Walker (life-size doll), Little Chap Family, Pebbles, Mr. Potato Head (in those days he came as a styrofoam ball) and always enjoyed playing Monopoly, though it was a game with never an end in sight! What's more, when I was about 8 or 9 my parents bought me a surrey with a red/white fringe on top. (Not quite the motorized Jeeps and Mercedes the kids drive today, but a big deal back then). I'm sentimental. These items represent a lot of happy times and I still have all these toys packed away (minus the potato head) and never let my own children play with them...except we do use my Monopoly game--money and pieces--housed in its original, now scotch-taped box.

Does anyone remember "Shake and Bake"? It was plastic molds that you added a mixture to with water. You shake it, then bake it and then you have a figurine to paint. My brother and I used to do it all of the time. Did I just date myself? lol.

Great memories of Mr. Machine (still have it) and my Cecil doll (Beanie and Cecil). Most of all it was my first Schwinn with a sissy bar and a banana seat.

monopoly was, and is still my favorite game of all time. I now play it with my 10 year old grandson, who beats me.
