Video Demo: PML's Live Tutoring Service

Service offers free one-on-one tutoring for students and adults.

New free live tutoring services offered through Suffolk County libraries were demonstrated at the Patchogue-Medford Library (PML) on Monday.

The services, free to anyone with a library card, can help students through a variety of academic subjects and adults in areas such as resume writing.

Brian Schwartz, one of the librarians at PML, said that the services can be accessed through the library’s website under the Children and Parent’s services section.

A tutor reviews the questions and helps the person asking through their question through chat and a virtual whiteboard. Services are offered in both English and Spanish language.

For students, the service is organized by grade level and then by subject. For adult learners, assistance in resume writing, GED prep, Microsoft Office and the US Citizenship exam are available.

The services are offered from 2- 11 p.m. each day.

Watch the video above for a walk through of the service.
