80s style band playing Patchogue's new music venue.
The 80s style band, Weird Science (WS), will be performing at the 89 North Music Venue Thursday night in Patchogue. Patch talked with the band about who they are musically and their upcoming show. Students performed as part of Star Shine 2012.
Patchogue-Medford students and alumni recently performed as part of Star Shine 2012 at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts. Students sang or danced to a song they selected, and at the end of the show everyone joined on stage while the "Star Shine Band" made of alumni performed closing numbers. Peter Randazzo is retiring after 23 years of conducting the pit at Patchogue-Medford High School.
Patchogue-Medford High School's next all-school musical will be the final one for music teacher Peter Randazzo. "The Drowsy Chaperone" marks Randazzo's 23rd and final year conducting the pit at the school before he retires announced the Patchogue-Medford school district in a release. The musical will take place on March 29-31 and involves over 90 students in the cast, crew, production and pit. The show also marks Carol Carota's first show as director at the high school. The show will take place at 7 p.m. on each of the three days, tickets are $12.

Tickets are being given out by 96.1 FM, around 100 tickets available for Village residents at Patchogue Village Hall.
More free country music coming to the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in April was announced at Monday's Patchogue Village Board of Trustees meeting. Following JVC Broadcasting's previous success with their free Vince Gill show in September, the company is now going to bring Casey James, of American Idol fame, and Lisa Matassa to the theatre on April 17. The company's My Country 96.1 FM website said that the band, "The Farm" will also perform. "It's going to be a lot of fun. The Vince Gill show was done the same way and had a full house," Dep. Mayor Jack Krieger said. While most tickets will be given away through the radio station, Krieger said that 100 tickets will be available to village residents through Patchogue Village Hall…

Performances were created based around artwork made by Artspace Patchogue artists.
Music performances inspired by artwork will be performed as part of ArtSpace: The Musical on Sunday at the Patchogue Theatre for The Performing Arts. Howard Beckerman, program director of the show, said that the show was originally conceived as a stage production but evolved into a music revue as he got to know Patchogue's music community. Beckerman then instead asked artists within the building if they would like to have their paintings and creations shown in front of local musicians, who would then use the artwork as inspiration to create an individual performance. The Dirty War, from 1976-1983, was a seven year campaign by the Argentine government against suspected dissidents and subversives.
