So true and it's the perfect day to start to think green. There are so many good benefits toRead Morereduce /reuse. I've saved so much; on garbage bags, groceries, and home articles. We grow our own & don't buy bottled water. These were the last 2 added in the past few years. I think of Earth tomorrow for the kids today. :-) happy Earth Day :-)

Isn't it ironic, that one who champions Earth Day, and conservation, would also want a WalmartRead Morebuilt in their community.you ask for people to look around, and reuse what they can, great I agree. Have you looked around a Walmart? Where everything is wrapped in plastic, plastic bags to all, cheap products which will end up in the landfill in a year. Really? Or how about cutting down 15 acres of trees in your neighborhood to build this monstrosity ! Do you really celebrate Earth day everyday? I wish you did , but you can't have it both ways.

ALL THE UPLOADS, ATTACHED TO STORIES, were BETTER, IN THE PAST ! WHA HAPPENED ? LIKE I SAID,Read Moreit's not a coincidence, as THESE UNION THUGS AND TOWN TOADIES, DON'T WANT WAL MART, AND WILL TRY EVERY, LOW LIFE TRICK, TO PREVENT WAL MART . IF THEY LIKE IT, YOU WOULD BE HEARING IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS !

THE ORDERS ARE OUT TO THE TOWN TOADIES, BY THE UNION THUGS...NO WAL MART !

Walmart is NOT coming. What was posted was an agenda from planning board mtg. It doesn't say it'sRead Moreap proved, simply a formality that they handed in all the paperwork that town requested. That's it! Walmart has a long way to go before they can get approval from town to build. The community will not let that happen. Sorry to those who want another cheap products store. You will have to keep shopping at the Dollar stores

CO i guess these "issues" don't plague any other states, regions or places you plan toRead Moreliv e. The roads have always been horrendous in Brookhaven, crack is not in, heroin is. But was have always had a drug problem hence the "war on drugs". Property taxes have ALWAYs been an issue. Again, power plant NIMBY. Polluted bay - again been an issue for many years - ask the residents to upgrade their cespools along the shore or ask everyone to pay higher property taxes to convert to sewers.

You think I don't know? You think I haven't visited numerous times and researched where I will beRead Moreli ving. I hate to tell you LI is NOT a model of the rest of the country. Yes heroin is in. Glass stems are still the number one selling item at gas stations. Out HS kids aren't dying from crack everyday so you don't read about it in Newsday. If you want to really talk about the popular drug now it's pills. All if LI had the problem but it's more concentrated in certain towns. Patchogue being one of them. As for all the problems you have listed yes they have always existed to a certain extent. They are now reaching the boil over level. It sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that this is an ok place to live. You think I just woke up one day and said to myself "I think I want to hate where I've lived my whole life"?

Archie You admit there's too much traffic already. So now add 500 cars per hr Walmarts own trafficRead Mores tudy indicates. How's that for traffic. One can sit through 5 traffic light changes from 3pm to 6pm. If Walmart builds you better bring your dinner with you. I also live here, and don't need anymore cars on my street. Is that nimby ism, yep. But this build also has negative impacts regionally . Like getting an ambulance over the bridge when Walmart shoppers are blocking the bridge lanes. Can you see the headlines, patient dies in ambulance while only 300 ft from hospital. Cause of death Walmart traffic.

Very misleading word "hiring" do you mean "recruiting"?
