Of Colors Black History Exhibition & Diversity Celebration at Artspace

For the 3rd year in a row, Of Colors (www.facebook.com/ofcolorscollective) presents, "The Black History Exhibition & Diversity Celebration at Artspace Patchogue.  The event will be held on Saturday, February 1st, 2014.  Doors open at 6pm with a "Honoree/Recognition" ceremony at 7:30pm.  This event is routinely well attended and the crowd increases each year. Please join us for an evening of art, culture, entertainment, food & appreciation as we thank community leaders, volunteers and local youth for their achievements, contributions, volunteer spirit and acts of kindness. All are welcome as we recognize not only African Americans, also those from other cultures that have shared in the African American experience or have contributed in honorable ways to their community.  A reading of Dr. Martin Luther King's, "I Have a Dream" speech by various community participants will start the event.  Entertainment provided by local R&B duo Tony & Julius (Tony Pruden & Julius Nelson Jr.) radio personalities, producers &remixers, Dimitri Tee & Rob James, acclaimed Poet Deborah La'Sassier and other exciting entertainers.  The artists and participants are from our local area and as far away as NY City, Staten Island & Pennsylvania.  Artspace Patchogue Gallery was nominated as one of "Bethpage Best of L.I. 2014"
