Assemblyman Dean Murray to Host Car Seat Safety Check
Assemblyman Murray noted that the event, co-sponsored by Central Brookhaven Early Headstart, is being held to educate parents and those in child care with the proper technique to install their child’s car seat or booster seat, so that they can ensure their child’s safety when being driven in a vehicle.
“Your child is precious cargo,” said Murray. “Nothing matters more to you than their safety. This is the perfect opportunity to ensure your car seat is installed correctly.”
According to the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, the number one cause of death in individuals ages 2 to 34 is motor vehicle related.

“I want to ensure that parents and child care providers have all the tools and information they need to provide the safest environment possible for their children,” said Murray. “I look forward to meeting children and parents from the district while helping inform families on how to prevent child motor vehicle injuries.”
