Troops from all over Long Island celebrate at Country Fair.

Girl Scout troops from all across Suffolk County gathered Saturday at the Country Fair, 3351 Rt. 112 in Medford, to celebrate 100 years of service.

The organization started in 1912 by Juliette Gordon Lowe. A ceremony held early Saturday morning acknowledged the continued commitment and dedication the troops have to their communities and their country. This past year alone, over 120,000 service hours were logged by the Suffolk County scouts.

The troops enjoyed fun Girl Scout themed activities as well as rides and games at Country Fair.
