Davidow, Davidow, Siegel & Stern, LLP Law Firm, which was founded in Patchogue but is now based in Islandia, is celebrating its 100th anniversary by giving out $15,000 to three Long Island charities in an online contest and by creating a fund to take care of the elderly and those with special needs.
"The contest is we're going to award $5,000, three times during the year, and you're going to vote on the recipient of that $5,000," Lawrence Davidow, managing partner at the law firm, said in a video posted on a website set up for the contest.
Davidow says in the video that the charity will be one that aligns with their mission of helping the elderly and people with disabilities.
The first set of nominated charities on the website include Education and Assistance Corp., Jewish Association Serving the Aging and Family Service League.
For the fund the law firm is creating, they are asking people to contribute a check of $100 to the Davidow Century of Giving Fund which they are creating in the Long Island Community Foundation.
"The money that you give, the birthday gift you give us, is going to go into that fund, and that money is going to be used to help people who have disabilities or are elderly and frail," Davidow said in the video.
