New Snow Totals Show Nearly 1 Foot For Medford
Totals show 9 inches in Lake Ronkonkoma; 10.6 inches in Patchogue.
The National Weather Service has released a new round of snow accumulation totals for all of Suffolk County, a tally that began roughly around 11 p.m. last night. According to the recent totals, Medford topped the area's charts with a recorded snow fall of 11.7 inches. That measurement was sent to the Weather Service by a member of the public. The National Weather Service gathers totals from citizens, NWS employees, trained spotters and contract observers.
Selden recorded the highest total with a recorded accumulation of 14.5 inches, as of 7:30 a.m. this morning. Lake Ronkonkoma was tallied by a trained spotter at around 11 p.m. last night, with an accumulated 9 inches.
Where was the highest total on Long Island? Right here in Suffolk County, as Selden and North Babylon tied with 14.5 inches. Here's the totals for Suffolk:
