What's happening today in Patchogue and Medford.

The first Village Board of Trustees meeting for 2011 and library programs are happening Monday in the Patchogue area.

Patrons will learn how to crochet an afghan square. Those who attend the class will need to bring two to three different light-colored worsted weight yarns, paper, pencil and a size H crochet hook. The class will meet in the Board Room.

Cub Scout Visit, , 31 Rider Ave., Patchogue, 4:30 p.m.
Cub Scouts and Den Leader Kathy Parrino will visit the St. Paul’s School’s Program room.

Bilingual Career Counseling, , 54 E Main St., Patchogue, 5:30 p.m.
Career counseling for anyone is available in the Board Room of the library. Appointments are at 5:45 p.m., 6:45 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Call 654-4700 ext. 248 to schedule an appointment.

Book Time With a Dog, , 31 Rider Ave., Patchogue, 6:30 p.m., 6:50 p.m., 7:10 p.m., 7:30 p.m.
Children grades 1-6 can read to a certified and trained therapy dog to improve reading abilities.

The Patchogue Village Board of Trustees will meet in Village Hall. The full agenda for the meeting can be viewed . Items on the agenda include a request for approval to amend village code regarding parking restrictions on Academy Street, a request for approval to waive the building permit renewal fee for Artspace and a request for approval to hire audit review services for the village.
