Patchogue Scout Builds Benches For Shorefront Park

Benches and flowerbeds added to the park to help fix it up after Superstorm Sandy.

Written by Michael Sorrentino.

Dominick Gianikos, 14 of Patchogue, has built new benches for Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village for his Eagle Scout project.

Gianikos said he wanted to help fix up the park after it was damaged by Superstorm Sandy.

Gianikos said that he worked on the benches, and that he and his troop helped with the flowerbeds.

Gianikos fundraised $1,400 to build the benches from a combination of a car wash, Applebee's pancake fundraiser and family donations.
