Photos: Camp Edey Light Show

The seventh annual Girl Scout holiday tradition lights up the night at Camp Edey.

There is a glow of bright colorful lights and the sound of Christmas music at the end of Lakeview Avenue in Bayport at Camp Edey. It is the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County Annual Holiday Light Show.

Now in its seventh year, this light show is part of Bayport's holiday traditions. Twinkling lights are intermingled in the woods on both sides of the road, and every few yards, the theme of the lights changed- from snowmen to princesses to the Empire State Building.

The Girl Scouts and many of their volunteers begin setting up the displays in October to be ready for the December opening. To get that Christmas glow, they use more then 10 miles of lights. Every year the Girls Scouts enhance and add new scenes. All proceeds from the show benefit Girl Scout programs and outreach services.
