A tabby cat has been found in Patchogue off of Waverly Avenue near Sunrise Highway, and it is searching for its owner.
According to a Board post added to Patch by Nicole Alessi Gruter, the cat often runs away as soon as one gets close to it.
"It seems to be a house cat that may have got out because its always on our front door step looking to get in," Gruter writes.
