VIDEO: Veteran Honored with Canine Companion in Medford

Wounded U.S. Air Force Senior Airman David Rogers graduates with assistance dog from Canine Companions for Independence.

Retired Senior Airman David Rogers was honored with a new best friend, Jersey, from Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) during their recent graduation ceremony in Medford.

Rogers was seriously injured in a car crash while serving on an Air Force Base in Germany. He suffered brain damage and can speak using a computer.

Prior to the graduation, Rogers and his mother Lauri, spent two weeks training with Jersey at the Northeast Regional Headquarters located in Medford. Rogers says he's looking forward to working with his new dog, joking that "playing fetch with him will keep him off Facebook."
