New Civic Group Forms In East Patchogue
After the East Patchogue region falls into what many residents are calling disrepair and crime, the Miramar Beach Civic Association was formed to help combat the problem and reverse that trend. 

Online Donation Site Launches For Family Of Christopher White
After news that Medford's Christopher White was killed while returning home on his motorcycle from his volunteer work for "Boots on the Ground," an online donation page was launched to help White's family:  a wife, Dorothy, and his three young sons. White was killed on Veterans Highway after he was struck by a man driving a van while allegedly high on drugs. 

Pat-Med Library Under New Leadership
The Patchogue-Medford Library said goodbye to Executive Director Dina McNeece Chrils and hello to new director Lauren Nichols. Nichols wrote a farewell and hello post on Patch's blog space to speak about the library's plans moving forward. 

Upset Over Floyd Earns Pat-Med Coach NY Jets Honor
Patchogue-Medford Varsity Football Coach Gary Marangi was awarded the New York Jets Coach of the Week this week after the Raiders earned a dominating 31-7 victory over reigning champion William Floyd. The Jets award is in its 18th year of existence and serves to recognize coaches who excel at teaching fundamentals, motivating student athletes and contributing to the overall environment of their community. 

Patchogue Group Mulls Dedication Bench For Local Volunteer
The Greater Patchogue Foundation Beautification Committee is considering dedicating its next public bench after Connie Fucillo, a long-time volunteer who lent her services to the Patchogue Theater for years. The committee, which has already installed dedicated benches for Eloise Staudinger and Jeffrey Weeks, recently issued a proposal to the community to get the process in motion for Fucillo's bench.
