Arts Members Want To Bring International Artists to Patchogue

Indiegogo campaign created to bring these artists to Long Island this Fall.

A few Patchogue Arts Council members have created their own organization to provide an artist residency on Long Island for 12 international artists, and have taken to fundraising platform Indiegogo to make that happen.

The Fleiss-Giacummo-McAvoy NY Contemporary Art Symposium 2013 (FGM) is hoping to have these international artists come from Sept. 27-Oct. 7.

FGM wrote on their fundraising page that Islip Art Museum will collaborate by arranging a series of events enabling the community, general public, local artists and art students to benefit from the exchange. Also collaborating will be the Patchogue Arts Council to arrange artists’ talks in Patchogue.

The fundraiser is hoping to make a $15,000 goal, and as of this writing currently has raised $415 with 19 days left. Unlike the similar Kickstarter platform, the organization will receive all money donated regardless of hitting goal.
