Audition for Playcrafters Readers Theatre Production of "Out Town" by Thornton Wilder

Playcrafters will be producing a dramatic reading of Thornton Wilder's OUR
TOWN directed by George Loizides. The reading will be presented on Friday
September 21 and Saturday September 22, 2012 at the Boys and Girls Club
auditorium, with 8-10 rehearsals beginning in mid August.

Since this will be a dramatic reading rather than a fully staged production,
actors will carry their scripts throughout the performances, and will not be
obliged to memorize their lines.

Playcrafters is interested in creating a multi-cultural cast of both adults
and young people. Interested actors may contact George Loizides by email at
stagecoach46@gmail.com. Audition readings will be held only for actors not
known to Mr. Loizides. Others will be cast at his discretion.

An audition will be held Wednesday August 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the
auditorium at the new

Boys and Girls Club building, 471 Atlantic Ave, Bellport.  At this audition,
potential actors will be asked to read from the script.

The story follows the small town of Grover's Corners through three acts:
"The Daily Life", "Love and Marriage," and "Death and Eternity." Narrated by
the Stage Manager audiences follow the Webb and Gibbs families as their
children fall in love, marry, and eventually-in one of the most famous
scenes in the American theater-die. Touching on universal truths and
feelings Wilder's classic play is one of the most widely produced in the
world.
