A playground altercation between two boys brings together two sets of Brooklyn parents for a meeting to resolve the matter. Ferdinand's father, Alan, is a lawyer who is never off his mobile phone. Ferdinand's mother, Annette is in "wealth management". Bruno's father, Michael is a self-made wholesaler with an unwell mother. At first, diplomatic niceties are observed, but as the meeting progresses, and the rum flows, tensions emerge and the gloves come off, leaving the couples with more than just their liberal principles in tatters.
