Live in the Lobby: "KGB" with special guest "Rabbits in Raincoats"

We are pleased to welcome KGB back to Live in the Lobby for the season finale of our sixth season.

Our tradition is to close out the year with a group that has played LIL in the past and we coaxed KGB out of a recent hiatus for a rare live performance of their amazing songs and incredible musicianship. Characterized by deliberate improvisation, KGB grabs listeners by the aural pants, launching them to green-eyed soul soundscapes speckled with funk and blues. With Erik Friedman on Bass and Vocals, Fred Golick on Drums, Kevin Griffin on guitar and vocals and Michael Katzman on Keyboards and vocals, the wells of influence from which the band draws its inspiration include: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, The Violent Femmes, Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, Billy Preston, and Lionel Richie (to name a few).

Opening the show, Rabbits in Raincoats is a "hard to categorize" trio of vocals, acoustic guitar, bass and french horn that Good Times magazine called "a refreshing break from the usual time warp of guitar driven noise we receive. And yes, the french horn is the lead instrument and provides warm, unobtrusive lead lines that rival those of a good lead guitar player. In all, it's absolutely stunning".
