Opening Date of 20TH YEAR for GATEWAY ACTING SCHOOL

The Acting School Division of The Gateway, Performing Arts Center of Suffolk County, is celebrating its 20th year of professional training for local aspiring performers.  The school, a great development in the life of the Bellport Theater, can now boast of alumni who were able to start their careers on the Gateway stage and now have Broadway, Film and Television credits.  Robin Joy Allan, the School’s Director, spent several years in Los Angeles casting Feature Films, Television Series and Movies of the Week. The training programs at Gateway encompass all genres of performing; from stage to screen. There are also opportunities to perform as the training progresses. Fall Sessions offered: Let's Pretend- Intro to Theater for ages 6-8; Acting Basics for ages groups  9-11, 12-14 and 15-18; Broadway Show Revue for age groups 9-11 and 12-14; Accelerated Acting for age groups 9-11, 12-14 and for 15-18 (adding Shakespeare; Advanced Acting and Monologue Preparation for BFA Auditions for ages 15-18; Musical Theater Auditioning for ages 15-18 and Cold Reading for Film And Television for ages 9-14. Sessions begin September 14 and 15. Adult Course starting September 28.  Classes on Fridays and Saturdays. Information can be found online at ww.gatewayplayhouse.org or by calling (631) 286-1133.
