The Randy Oxford Band from the Pacific Northwest will continue their U.S. East Coast tour this summer with a show at Bobbique, Tuesday evening, July 17.  The show, which is sponsored by the Long Island Blues Society, is the fourth of 9 on a twelve-day tour that includes a performance at the North Atlantic Blues Festival.  The seven-piece band features the award-winning Oxford on trombone and multiple vocalists, backed by a stellar collection of musicians - each a virtuoso in his/her own right.  The interplay between the performers provides the audience with something entertaining to watch, as well as to hear. Although essentially blues-based, The Randy Oxford Band prides itself on showcasing music that defies easy classification.  From classics like Etta’s “At Last,” to originals that crackle with jazz licks and funky rhythms, the band prefers to define itself, building upon each player’s creativity and talent.  Randy and his band are looking forward to furthering their reputation for presenting high-energy shows, with well-crafted musical arrangements, inspired solos, and a spirited sense of fun.

Their performance at Boobique will follow their appearance at the North Atlantic Blues Fest on July 14. Other appearances include shows at Fort Allen Park on the Eastern Promenade in Portland, ME, Chan's in Woonsocket, RI,Club Metronome in Burlington, VT, Crocodile Rock Café in Allentown, PA, The Blue Note in NYC, Black-eyed Sally’s in Hartford, CT, and a final show at The Big Easy in Portland, ME.

The band is touring in support of their critically acclaimed CD, “Festival,” which has received extensive airplay throughout the country.  The Randy Oxford Band earned a spot in the finals at the International Blues Challenge in 2011, resulting in appearances last year at Le Festival International de Tremblant, two successful tours of the mid-west, and up-coming shows at the San Diego Blues Festival, Bronze, Blues, and Brews Festival (Oregon), the Big Sky Blues Festival (Montana) and more.

Your barking dog complaint in North Patchogue is handled by Public Safety, Town of Broohaven. CallRead More them at 451-6161 and they will take action. The first time the owners will be warned, the next time they will receive a summons.

Don't know what the Town ordnance is, but if you live within the Village of Patchogue, I believeRead More there is a "15 minute rule" in the code. Basically, if the dog is barking for more than 15 continuous minutes, it's a violation subject to a fine. Call public safety at 475-1225. Keep in mind it's probably not their first priority (unless the dog has a bad attitude, and is carrying a weapon), but they will be responsive, eventually.
