Visions of Aging Film Festival

Gerontology Professionals of Long Island and St. Joseph's College Department of Community Health and Human Services are sponsoring this film festival about aging perspectives.  Four films will be shown during the 5 hour festival, and people are encouraged to come and go as they wish.  Two of the films are award winning documentaries, Young at Heart and Gen Silent.

Young at Heart is somewhat of a cross between On Golden Pond, Woodstock, and Glee.  It profiles a senior chorus group in MA who primarily sing rock songs.  Gen Silent concerns an aging gay couple who fear that going into long term care may mean they have to go back "in the closet."

The fee is a donation, $10 for individuals, and $5 for Seniors.  Those under 16 are free.  Stan Zizka founder of the DelSatins will be performing during intermissions.  For more info, call 631-687-1492.
