Patchogue Village's Music Scene Being Documented For Book

A reception for the "Lights On...Music Around Here" photography exhibition and book project is taking place at Artspace Patchogue, 20 Terry St. in Patchogue, Thursday from 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

According to a flyer for the exhibit, the music scene of Patchogue Village will be on display in photos at the exhibit, and a book project of the same name by Artspace resident Crios is being presented at Thursday's event.

The book will feature around 40 bands who have made Patchogue Village part of their music domain, says the flyer. Thursday's reception will feature live music from Jordan Hope, Ten Strings and CyberSheep.

Jocelyn Kuan, who is also working on the project, said in an email to Patch that they are planning to have benefit concerts at different bars and venues in Patchogue to get the funds needed to print 500 copies of this book to be distributed on Long Island and New York City.

According to a release about the exhibit, Crios's modern pieces of art in the form of photographs will also be presented during the reception. The exhibit will be open in Artspace Patchogue's lobby gallery through July 31.
