PBS Lucero Documentary to Broadcast Sept. 21

Film to document the hate crime as part of the Not In Our Town series.

A PBS documentary on the 2008 murder of Ecuadorean immigrant Marcelo Lucero is scheduled to debut on the network on Sept. 21 said Adam Christy of The Working Group production company in a phone call with Patch.

The documentary is part of the channel’s Not In Our Town series. Crews from the series have been filming in Patchogue at events such as the and at a .

Christy said that the film will likely be screened on Long Island ahead of the PBS national broadcast at a soon to be planned premiere.

The Not In Our Town series documents communities that have dealt with hate crimes. The series previously covered incidents Billings, MT and Northern California.
