On Friday, the Lou Saxon Jam Band played at the restaurant, replacing the originally scheduled Sweaty Betty. Punctuated as well by timbales, trumpet, and a solid rhythm section, they played soul and blues favorites, from Van Morrison to Ray Charles and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The band will next play at Senix Creek Inn in Center Moriches at 9 p.m. on January 22.

Over at Friday night, Urban Acoustic covered songs by Sublime, Tom Petty and Fleetwood Mac among other popular songs. The band released their newest album, A Break in the Clouds, this past August according to their website, Urban Acoustic will next play Patchogue this upcoming Friday, January, 21 at at 7 p.m.

The Kerry Kearney Band played to a packed crowd at Bobbique Saturday night, performing their Blues-Roots-Delta sound and tales of wanderlust, boxcars, and harmonica-wailing grief. A raffle was sent around to raise money to get these fellas back to Memphis.

The laid-back reggae of the Roast Beef Curtains (RBC) played out at Brick House Brewery Saturday night. The band is hard to classify as they have a mix of rock and experimental sound featuring an instrument called the melodica, a held keyboard connected to a mouthpiece. RBC’s lyrics were funny and relatable, dismissing lost love recklessly and finding satisfaction instead in escape, in music. The band was a big hit while remaining humble.
