Preview: Bret Michaels Set to Rock Patchogue

Bret Michaels is scheduled to rock Patchogue's world with an upcoming performance at the as part of his Get Your Rock On 2011 Tour.

Michaels, frontman of the 80's hair band Poison, star of VH1's Rock of Love and reigning champ of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice, will hit the stage this Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Local Bret Michaels fans, like Gina Duca of Medford, already have their tickets; she said she is anxiously awaiting to see Michaels perform in such a local setting. Duca, who has seen Michaels perform with Poison, calls him an amazing performer and is glad he is back at it after his recent health issues.

"I am so excited to see the show, but I still can't believe he is coming to Patchogue," Duca said.

Hosting the show is local DJ and MC host, Lucienne Mannino. Mannino is the owner of Selden-based Digital Mix DJ Entertainment. With 22 years of experience, she was referred for the gig after speaking to a member of Mad Co., the opening act for Michaels this Friday night, who thought a female host would be perfect for this event.

"I am excited about being a part of this great show, and I'm ready to get the audience revved up," said Mannino on Monday.

Mannino said she is sure to get the energy level quite high at the theatre Friday night before the curtains even open. "I grew up with Bret's music and can relate to the audience," she said.

News 12 Wedding Scenes has featured Mannino's DJ and MC service, and she's hosted events for artists such as Musiq, The Capris, Johnny Maestro and Laura Branigan, to name a few.

According to bretmichaels.com, Michaels will be reuniting with Poison to tour this summer to celebrate their 25 year anniversary. Tickets are currently on sale for Poison and Motley Crue, who are slated to hit the Nassau Coliseum on July 20.
