Business Beat: Jason Beinerman, Ruslana Loziner of Berry Good Yogurt Cafe

Meet Jason Beinerman and Ruslana Loziner who co-own Berry Good Yogurt Cafe in Patchogue Village.

Jason Beinerman and Ruslana Loziner have recently soft-opened the Berry Good Yogurt Cafe at 14 E. Main Street in Patchogue Village. The cafe will have its grand opening ceremony on July 27. Beinerman and Loziner recently talked with Patch about what its like running their new business.

Patch: Describe what your business is?

Beinerman and Loziner (BL): We are a self-serve frozen yogurt cafe. We offer 21 flavors of yogurt, over 50 toppings. We serve specialty coffee drinks, various pastries, including gluten-free pastries, and smoothies. We also have a large party room for all occasions.

Patch: Where are you from and what is your personal/professional background?

BL: We are originally from Brooklyn. I am a plumber and my partner is a financial analyst.

Patch: Why did you decide to open your business in Patchogue?

BL: We really like the community in Patchogue and wanted to be a part of the growing village. We enjoy the large variety of restaurants, local shops and definitely the theater.

Patch: What do you hope to accomplish with your business?

BL: We hope to bring joy to the Patchogue community by offering delicious and healthy treats for everyone. We will definitely get involved in local communities, charities, and schools and would like to participate in fundraising events for the residents.

Patch: What area of your industry do you specialize in?

BL: We are in the food/dessert industry. We are a self-serve frozen yogurt cafe.

Patch: Who is your typical customer/client?

BL: We do not have a typical customer. Our customers are of all ages and types. Our yogurt appeals to children and adults alike. Anyone who wants to indulge in a healthy treat is a customer of ours.

Patch: Describe some of the history of your business, such as when it opened, where it operates, etc.?

BL: The store opened it’s doors on June 26th, 2013. We are located on Main Street in Patchogue (right off North Ocean Avenue) and are open seven days a week. We are open late and are open on all major holidays.

Patch: What is your favorite aspect of running your business?

BL: The favorite aspect of running our business is the satisfaction in seeing every customer have a GREAT experience in our place.

Patch: What specific challenges do you face with running your business and making it work in today's economy?

BL: The main challenge of running our business is to ensure that people want to come in all year round and avoid being a seasonal spot. We are hopeful that our great tasting coffee and pastries will please the customers all year long.
