25th Anniversary of Clare Rose Playhouse

The Clare Rose Playhouse on the Long Island Campus of St. Joseph's College will celebrate its 25th anniversary on Sunday, September 12 with a wine and cheese reception from 3 – 5 p.m.

"I am delighted to bring together the countless people from all over Long Island who have shared their time and talent performing in our productions as well as the hundreds of SJC students and alumni who have benefited from the opportunities afforded them to become involved in every aspect of theatre," said Sister Grace Rowland, executive director of the Clare Rose Playhouse. "As we celebrate this milestone, my heart is filled with gratitude to Clare Rose, without whom none of this would have been possible."

Through the generosity and support of Clare Rose, the Playhouse has served as a teaching facility for theater courses at St. Joseph's College and has provided live entertainment to the surrounding community. Once a cottage and now an intimate theater, the Clare Rose Playhouse serves as a training ground for young actors.

Over the years, the community theater productions that have taken stage at the Clare Playhouse include musicals, dramas, comedies, cabaret acts, musical performances, dance troupes and comedians. The Playhouse will begin its 2010-11 season on September 24 with the Neil Simon comedy Come Blow Your Horn.
