Fairway Market to Open in Lake Grove on July 23

New store is located across from the Smith Haven Mall.

Suffolk County's first Fairway Market is set to open its doors.

The grocery chain's new location in Lake Grove will open for business on July 23, company officials announced Friday.

The 50,000-square-foot store is located in the DSW Plaza at 3200 Middle Country Road across from the Smith Haven Mall.

A ribbon cutting will be held at the store at 10 a.m. on July 23, with the doors opening to the public at 10:30 a.m. The store, which will be the 15th in the Tri-State area, will regularly be open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’re very excited to make Suffolk County our newest home and offer its residents what those in Nassau County, as well as in New York’s five boroughs, Westchester County, New Jersey and Connecticut already have access to – Fairway’s unprecedented array of traditional and specialty foods and groceries all under one roof and at great values,” said Charles Santoro, Fairway Market’s executive chairman. “The location is ideal; DSW Plaza is also home to such national names as Designer Shoe Warehouse, Toys R Us and Babies R Us, and it is directly across the street from the Smith Haven Mall, so it is right in the heart of Suffolk County.”

The first Fairway Market opened in the 1930s and still operates at Broadway and W. 74th Street in Manhattan.

Yes, candyee, have u? Fairway is a great store, as is trader joes. Whole foods and Uncle Guiseppe are overpriced, and have terrible customer service.

Would it be too much to ask for a great store like Fairway to open closer to the south shore? We got nothing! Thank you.

Totally agree.I like all the above grocery stores, but rarely go up there. What's wrong with the South Shore. Well, at least we are finally getting a Target nearby and I'm happy about that!!

Can't wait for the new Fairway! I used to go to the one in Plainview when I was living in Levittown/East Meadow. Then we moved to Suffolk about 5 years ago and the last time I was there was before I left Nassau. Hopefully they'll expand and add one on the south shore in Suffolk.
