King Kullen SVP: Patchogue Store Is Closing

Store to close after the first of the year.

The Patchogue location of King Kullen, at 499 N. Service Rd. in the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center, will be closing in 2014.

Joseph Brown, senior vice president of the grocery chain, told Patch Friday that the location is closing "sometime after the first of the year."

Brown said the location is closing because the terms of lease have come to an end and the company is choosing not to renew. This is the same reason a West Islip location of King Kullen is also closing

Brown said that the company plans to offer employees similar positions at other stores at the same rate of pay and employment status.

Patch has asked Brown about the number of employees at the Patchogue store and will update should we hear back.

What are your thoughts on the closing of this King Kullen location? What do you want to see possible replace it? Talk about it in the comments below this story.
