Preview: Spamalot Opens at Patchogue Theatre

The musical comedy which took Broadway by storm in 2005, winning three Tony Awards, including best musical, is being presented by Bellport's performing arts center at Gateway Playhouse. An adaptation of the popular 1975 movie,"Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the musical spoofs the legendary adventures of King Arthur and his knights, and musical theater in general.
The show was written by Eric Idle, a member of the original Python troupe, who collaborated with John Du Prez for the music. The show began Wednesday and runs through July 30.
