Queen City Cupcakes Re-Opens Friday

Store's second life under new ownership starts at noon.

The Queen is coming back to Main Street.

Queen City Cupcakes is returning to business Friday at 12 p.m., announced the business's Facebook Page. This is a push back from the originally announced Jan. 3 re-opening date, and will be opening under new ownership.

The store was initially closed in November by previous owner Carol Reitz-Butler and sold to Lisa and Andres.

The new hours for the business are Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (sometimes later), and Thursday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-11 p.m. The store will be closed on Mondays. The website for the store is http://queencitypatchogue.com/.

I hope they changed their recipes. When My wife and I tried it , it tasted like eating a stick of butter.

That 'tastes like a stick of butter' nonsense that everyone whines about disappears when you bring the cupcakes to room temperature. You shouldn't eat them cold. But even if you do...at least they don't taste like powdered sugar mixed with crisco (which is the basis for most *terrible* commercial frostings). Very much looking forward to QC's return.

We had them while walking out of the store. Obviously we weren't the only ones who thought they tasted terrible due to them closing. also why buy cupcakes there with them made somewhere else. I can go other places who make them on site.

Chris K, when I owned QCC we always asked customers if they would be enjoying their cupcakes right away or later in the day. We told every customer who purchased our cupcakes that they were best at room temperature, if the answer was "right away" we warmed them in the microwave for 10 seconds to take the chill out, otherwise we instructed customers to leave them out of the fridge until serving. If someone opted not to have then warmed, it's not because we didn't know better. I take your condescending tone in this and other threads personally, BTW, and wonder why you carry such animosity. My business was not hurt by the quality of my goods, nor the professionalism of my staff, nor even what you see as a flawed business model ( in fact, our first year was very good). It was hurt by having jackhammers directly in front of my store ( and I don't mean the Tritec project across the street, I mean DIRECTLY in front of my door) 9 times in 11 months. Since each incident lasted a week a week or more ( jackhammers were followed trench work, cement mixers, wet cement, etc, Brand new sidewalks were ripped up again and again), this was the equivalent to being closed for more than 2 months last year, but with the expense of full stock and staff because I was never given the courtesy of a heads up when this mayhem was scheduled. What flegling business could possibly survive that?

Carol - First comment on the post was about the cupcakes tasting like a "stick of butter". Someone replied calling this opinion nonsense and whining and we got a schooling on bringing cupcakes to room temp. That's where my comment came in so it was not directed at you.

What a bitter woman. You sold cupcakes. You went out of business. Was it crappy over priced baked by someone else cupcakes or jack hammering?

Chris, your new pseudonym says it all. I can only assume your bile is directed at pretty much anyone who comes in contact with you, so I won't take it personally anymore. Thanks for clearing that up.
