Report: Patchogue Fashion Bug To Close

Franchise location for the closing store to shut down, reports Long Island Press.

The store in Patchogue is set to close by next year after its mother company was bought out, reports the Long Island Press.

Charming Shoppes Inc., who owns the Fashion Bug chain, is reportedly planning to close several hundred of the stores in over 40 states. This locally includes the Patchogue and Selden locations says the article.

Ascena Retail Grounp Inc. in Suffern, NY is reported to have purchased Charming Shoppes Inc. for $890 milllion. The article reports that the recently-bought company issued a press release that the entire brand would stop operation by 2013 based on the results of a strategic review. The number of affected employees was not listed.
