Weekend Guide To Patchogue For June 5-6

Brickhouse 14th Anniversary, Relay For Life, album release party, music and comedy shows pack this weekend.

Memorial Day weekend may have passed, but there are a ton of shows, socials, and events going on this weekend that should be looked into.

Saturday June 5

The Patchogue Arts Council WH Design Studio will be presenting the works of several artists at the WH Design Studio from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The works of Kimberly Goodloe, Florence Heitner, Titus Kana, and Clarence Simpson will be on display at this social event.

For Anyone:

What: American Cancer Society's Relay For Life

Where: Patchogue-Medford High School (181 Buffalo Avenue, Medford)

Patchogue-Medford High School is again hosting the Relay For Life, which is an all night benefit for the American Cancer Society. Starting at 6:00 PM Saturday and running all the way until 6 AM Sunday, participants in the event make teams to commit to have at least one team member walking, running, or otherwise moving on the track the entire night to symbolize the constant fight against cancer. According to their website, over $44,000 have been raised so far for the American Cancer Society. Events of the night will include music, games, the Luminaria candlelight vigil to honor those who passed from cancer, and a special lap around the track for Cancer survivors.

For the Rocker:

What: Bedrockers

Where: Brickhouse Brewery (67 W Main Street)

This South Shore based rock cover band will be playing at the Brickhouse Brewery Saturday night at 10:00 PM. The band plays songs by the Beastie Boys, Frank Zappa, The Doors, Limp Bizkit, and other high energy rock songs.

For the Dancer:

What: DJ Pete's Pacella's Dance Party

Where: Once And For All Café (8 E Main Street)

DJ Pete will be playing dance music of the decades at this Café on Main Street Saturday night.

Sunday June 6

For the Beer Enthusiast:

What: Brickhouse Brewery 14th Anniversary Party

Where: Brickhouse Brewery (67 W Main Street)

Celebrate the 14th birthday of this Patchogue hotspot from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

For the Blues:

What: Toby Walker Album Release Party

Where: Bobbique (70 W Main Street)

Blues singer Toby Walker will be releasing his new album "Speechless" at his album release party at Bobbique at 2:00 PM. Tickets will be $10 at the door and include $5 off the purchase of the album.

For Classical Music:

What: Atlantic Wind Symphony

Where: Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts (71 E Main St)

The oldest professional concert band on Long Island is playing Patchogue Theatre at 3:00 PM. The Symphony is made up exclusively of Long Island musicians. Tickets cost $15 for General Admission and $12 for students and seniors.

For Laughs:

What: Comedy at the Q

Where: Bobbique (70 W Main Street)

At 8:00 PM, Tom Daddario will host Comedy At The Q, which will feature comedy performances from Keith Anthony, Dr. Harry Friedman, Marc Zakan, and Cormac. The event is free to the public. For more information call 631-447-7744.
