UPDATE 9/9/10 2:56 p.m.: The YMCA Patchogue Center opening has been pushed to Friday morning confirmed calls to the center placed Thursday afternoon. The part that had delayed the opening has arrived and is installed, but the opening of the recreation center is contingent on a final inspection. Those planning on visiting the center should call 631-891-1800 ext. 1 to confirm the facility is open.
As previously reported by Patchogue Patch, the piece of equipment needed was a transfer switch. Boyle said last week that the needed peice of equipment is a "life safety issue."
She previously said that memberships will not be effected and that the Holtsville YMCA's schedule has been rearranged to accommodate members until the Patchogue facility opens. The Patchogue YMCA was originally slated to open Tuesday.

The YMCA, which recently held its ribbon-cutting, houses a variety of fitness, recreation and day care programs.
