Countdown to Thanksgiving --Long Islanders Let's Collectively Count our Blessings

Why not help create a "Thankful to Be a Long Islander List" that will rival any Guinness World Record.

Let's face it, we're all battered and worn from the stormy weather around here, but there are still many blessings, even if they are blessings in disguise, that we can count on.  Please help me in my quest to create a long list of things that Long Islanders can be grateful for.  Let's make it a list that can rival any Guinness World Record.Just write one thing that you are grateful for and then email, Facebook, or Tweet this blog post to your friends, colleagues, or relatives, and let them add a gratitude thought of their own.To start things rolling, I've listed 10 things that I am grateful for.

1)  I am grateful that my family, friends, neighbors, and clients, all survived Sandy.

2)  I am grateful to all the hardworking people who helped get my life up and powered again.  Hurrah, for electricity!

5) I am grateful for all the Long Islanders who have been out there cleaning up all the devastation left in the aftermath of Sandy.

6) I am grateful for all the local new services who have been doing their best to keep us informed.

7) I am grateful for all the aid and support that is coming from far and wide to help all those who are still without power, and worse, without homes.

8) I am grateful that we are all learning so much from this storm, and with any luck at all, we will use this knowledge to be better prepared for the future.

9) I am grateful for the best sanitation workers in the world, who are working diligently to clean up all the debris left behind by Sandy.

10) I am grateful to be able to say that I was, "Grown on Long Island!"

Now it's your turn.  Have fun.  Start with:  I am grateful for______ and add your own thoughts.  And, don't forget to pass this on to others!
