Carnegie Library Moving August 8th...Join the Friends at Roast for a premove celebration

Carnegie Library to be moved on August the 8th. Everyone is invited to join the Friends of the Carnegie Library at Roast that night for a premove celebration.

Hello All,

As was recently announced, The Carnegie Library will now be moved Wednesday, August 8th. As was the case with initial move plans, the bulk of the move will be in the overnight, starting at Midnight the 8th going into August 9th. The plan is to have the building at it's new home property near the corner of Main Street and West Avenue by 6am August 9th.

For those wanting to see part of the move in daytime hours, Tritec has said that the movers will actually do a first stage of the move starting sometime after 1pm August 8th. The plan has the building being moved to the old Sam Gordon building site (corner of Havens Ave and Lake St) by 6pm, where the building will wait for the Midnight move.

Also as was scheduled previous, the Friends of the Carnegie Library will host a gathering prior to the move on August 8th, 9pm to Midnight at Roast Coffee and Tea on Main Street. Roast is staying open late just for the occasion. Providing musical entertainment that evening will be "Bryan Gallo & Friends." Bryan hosts a popular open mic night at Roast on Fridays and is making special arrangements to preform for this exciting event.

In fact prior to our gathering, Bryan is assisting Roast's Tuesday night open mic Host, Hank Stone, who will be preforming at Plaza Mac at Art Space beginning 7:00 pm on Aug. 8th. So if you are looking for plans earlier that night, Plaza is the place to start.

At our gathering at Roast, the Friends will have an information table and will be collecting donations to be used toward future renovations to the Historic Carnegie Library. Roast will also be making a donation from proceeds collected that evening as well. At Midnight we will all walk over to watch what should be an incredible spectacle.

So please join us August 8th, grab a cup of Coffee, enjoy the music of the incredible local talent of Patchogue and witness a one of a kind event that will save a vital piece of Patchogue's past. See you all there.
