With this year's Jones Beach fireworks show cancelled, the Patchogue area has one of the biggest July 4 celebrations in the area.
Also, the Patchogue Lions Club holds its annual Independence Day Parade on Main Street starting at 1:30 p.m. The parade will run from the West Avenue intersection through the Route 112 intersection and will feature bands, clowns, floats, and marching community organizations. Attendees are being asked to bring a non-perishable food item.
Later, Grucci brings their fireworks program to Davis Park on Fire Island at 9:30 p.m. Residents who want to watch the fireworks can either go to Shorefront Park or Mascot Dock in Patchogue, take a ferry over to Davis Park from the Sandspit Terminal on Brightwood Street ($16 roundtrip, schedule here), or reserve a spot on one of several ferries that will be in the bay during the fireworks show. Prices range from $45 to $55.
