LIRR In Service Wednesday

Most Montauk branch service restored; normal evening rush service expected on Ronkonkoma branch.

The Long Island Rail Road is running on a reduced weekday schedule because of the inclement weather, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority said on its website Wednesday.

The Montauk branch, which serves Sayville, Patchogue, Hampton Bays, East Hampton and Southampton, has restored service between Babylon and Speonk. However there is no service between Speonk and Montauk, according to the MTA.

The MTA said the Ronkonkoma branch expects normal evening rush service. However, service east of Ronkonkoma to Greenport has also been suspended until tracks have been cleared of snow.
