Suffolk County Police have arrested a Patchogue teenager for making a false report that resulted in Bayport-Blue Point school officials locking down the high school and nearby Academy Elementary this week to conduct a weapons search.

Deer Park-North Babylon
The Deer Park School District is mostly intact after Hurricane Sandy, however, 10 of its teachers are not. In total, 10 Deer Park school teachers are now displaced after the superstorm destroyed their homes, Bruce Sander, president of the district's Teachers Association said Tuesday night at a Board of Education meeting.

Camp Bulldog brought a new definition to that word last weekend, dishing out thousands of hotdogs and hamburgers, untold non-perishable foods and supplies, and a healthy dose of neighborly hugs and smile and tears to residents of Lindenhurst battling back from the effects of Hurricane Sandy.

Half Hollow Hills
A Dix Hills elementary school student is looking to help the less fortunate in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. Taylor Goldstein, 7, a second grader at Vanderbilt Elementary School, is making and selling lanyard key chains with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross.
