Deer Park-North Babylon

Deer Park is about to get a little taste of Texas after months of setbacks and delays due to Hurricane Sandy. Texas Roadhouse will open its second Long Island restaurant in Deer Park on June 3, said managing partner Tony Martinez. The steakhouse has started hiring staff to prepare for its opening. Martinez said he is looking to hire approximately 180 employees for the restaurant on Commack Road, split between 50 full-time positions and 130 part-time staff.

West Islip

A West Islip man was arrested Tuesday and charged in the deadly crash that took the life of 15-year-old Thomas Labetti in September. Dennis Grabhorn, Jr., 34, was charged Wednesday in Suffolk County court following a seven-month investigation by Suffolk County Police.

Sayville-Bayport

The former Village Fish Market on Montauk Highway in West Sayville has re-opened for the season and is under new leadership and boasting a new name. Now it's called Claws and is a crab shack and clam bar. The new name isn't deterring fans as the parking lot was packed mid week with hungry diners.

Patchogue

An East Patchogue woman was killed in a two-car crash Wednesday evening at the intersection of Gazzola Drive and Sills Road in East Patchogue, said Suffolk County Police. Police said that Camille Ricciardo, 71, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Classic east on Gazzola Drive when her vehicle struck a 2006 Chevrolet commercial pickup traveling south on Sills Road around 5:45 p.m.

A Babylon Village doctor who pled guilty to child pornography charges in 2011 might not spend any time in jail after a judge delayed his sentencing for three years – as long as he volunteers full-time to care for the elderly and need.
