Help Your Eye Shadow Last Longer

Tired of your eye shadow disappearing before the end of the day or special event? Try these tips to ensure your eye shadow will remain fresh and as good as it looked when you first applied it.

Sometimes eye shadow seems to just fade away long before we are ready to wash it off. Here are some tips to ensure that it stays on during the day and into the night even if you have oily eye lids.

1. After washing your face, lightly dab on concealer or liquid foundation on your eye lid. Be careful of keeping it from the inside of your eye to avoid irritation.

2. Apply a neutral shade of liquid-to-powder eye shadow cream on the entire eye lid. Help set this cream eye shadow by lightly dusting pressed powder over the lid area. Doing this creates a barrier between your skin and your color cosmetics so that it will help prevent the oils in your skin from dissolving or absorbing the shadow colors.

3. Now, your eye lid is ready to apply your eye shadow colors and keep them there all day. When applying the colors, use a neutral shade and apply it with an eye shadow brush from the lash line to the brow line.

4. Take an angled eye shadow brush and choose a medium shade to apply it to the crease of your eye lid. Depending on the shape of your eye, a certain technique or application shape may be better than others. Try experimenting with this.

5. Choose a darker coordinated shade and apply it using the eye shadow container's applicator. Press the applicator firmly into the color and tap off excess flakes before applying it to your eye lid. Gently press the color with the applicator on the outside corner of your eye just above your lash line. Only apply this color half-way towards the inside corner of your eye.

6. Take the lightest shade of eye shadow or a white pearl color and press it on the inside corner of your eye just above the lash line.  This will give your eye a more luminisce, brighter look. Perfect for that sparkle in your eye!

7. Of course, add the finishing touches like eye liner and mascara to give your eyes the attention they deserve.

GOOD LUCK and let me know how you do!
