The past GMs and/or their minions will be out in top strength as the runners of the “May the Road Rise to meet Ye 5K” wind their way through the course. They will be out to urge on the runners keeping them safe and free from the likes of traffic, snarling dogs, the overwhelming urge to just stop running to have a beer instead of water. They will be competing for THE HAPPY BIG MOUTH AWARD! The winners name will be engraved on the trophy that will be theirs to keep until next year and proudly displayed- or equally OK - stored in the hall closet or hidden the sock draw. the Winners get a progressive dinner for two at select eateries of the 2013 Fine Eateries and Pubs of Patchogue complete with appetizers, entree, dessert, post dessert chasers, after dinner drinks, after drinks drinks and on and on until you are approaching post mortem stuffed! The Brickhouse Brewery will have a beer for the day in honor of the winner served the day of your progressive dinner - Big Mouth Ale. Most important of all, the winners will be provided a place to park at least one mid-size car within walking distance of Four Corners! The judges will be the First, 18th, 101st finishing male and female and the last runner in under 30 minutes. A dash to finish will break out at 29:45 for certain. Another Grand Tradition check that - Wacky - (but fun) tradition brought to you by the Cultural Heritage Committee of the Chamber’s Charitable Foundation.
