The Last Book of Small Works of Art on Long Island
Open Call for Artist:
About the Project:
This project is meant to bring together art from artist all over Long Island. This will be the first time in the history of art on Long Island that all artists are offered the chance to not only come together to display their art, but be able to share their art with all of Long Island. In keeping with the idea behind the name artists will submit works of art on 4x6 size postcard, canvas or paper. The project is also about fighting against this digital age of printing and bringing together a rare book of fine art.
The postcards will be sewn together into a book of art that will go on display in various areas of Long Island, along with 500 replicas of the postcards for viewers to collect. After the viewings the book will be divided into Nassau Artists and Suffolk Artists. The Nassau Book will become part of a permanent collection in Nassau and the Suffolk Book as part of a permanent collection in Suffolk.
