Fundraiser to Benefit Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck Honors Memory of School Administrator Dedicated to Helping Special-Needs Children

Who:               Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck staff and board members,
                        Members of the Shapiro Family

What:              Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck will be hosting a fundraiser in memory of Jodi Shapiro, a Special Education Administrator of Manhasset Schools, who suddenly passed away after a brief battle with Cancer at the age of 39. All of the proceeds from the event will go to Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck, with a fundraising goal of $10,000. This event will feature raffles, live music and a hot wing eating contest.

Ms. Shapiro, who joined the Manhasset School District in 2009, created special education programs for children who were enrolled in preschool through sixth grade at Shelter Rock, Munsey Park, Our Lady of Grace, and St. Mary’s elementary schools. She was promoted to Assistant Director of Committees on Preschool Special Education and Elementary Special Education in 2012 and had a true passion for helping others. Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck aims to help children with special needs, which was a cause that Ms. Shapiro strongly supported.
