Jamie Mareno Featured Artist / Gallery Art Loft at Brick House Brewery

Jamies work is about showcasing the simplicity in life or breaking down the complications. Amplifying the beauty of an overlooked object, magnifying the color and texture, or taking it out of its element and demonstrating it in a new habitat. The world is full of gems, it’s the little things we take for granted, and it is in these I feel inspired. It’s the joy we experience along with the pain that inspire her. The reaction to life is where she discovers colors and textures, situations she could not summon inside her head alone. It is in the intensity of her creative process where she finds she truly connects with herself, She finds it very therapeutic.. The struggle with trial and error and the connection of my feelings and esthetic value is a great release for her. I pour out my untapped emotions that I have no words for.
Born in 1984, Boulder Colorado and raised on Long Island, NY. In 2012, Jamie Mareno studied art in highschool and went on to earn her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Briarcliffe College in Patchouge, NY where she studied Graphic Design. She started off as a studio artist and developed her skills as a designer and photographer allowing her to incorporate the three. Exploring the simplicity of life by amplifying the beauty of overlooked objects, magnifying the color and texture, and bringing the object to the forefront of the viewers’ attention or breaking down the complications of life and memories. She feels that everything can be made into something else. Jamie will be captured by the color, composition, shape or texture of an object and will utilize it to re-create something unique. Mareno works in mixed media including both natural and man-made materials.
