Smith Point Bridge 5K Run for Literacy

A great family event, the 13th annual Smith Point Bridge 5K Run for Literacy takes place at Smith Point County Park on Saturday, September 7th at 9:00 a.m.  Proceeds support Community Family Literacy Project's (CFLP) programs for children and adults who are served by the Mastics-Moriches Shirley Community Library. Proceeds also support an annual college scholarship that is awarded to a William Floyd High School senior who demonstrates an understanding of literacy and cultural diversity, and funds free books for children through the Reach Out and Read program at the Marilyn Shellabargar South Brookhaven Family Health Center.  For more information and runner registration, visit: http://5kbridgerun.communitylibrary.org/ or call the library literacy department at 399-1511 ext. 215.  Complimentary runner entry is available at some levels of sponsorship. Both business and individual sponsorships are encouraged.  CFLP acknowledges the generosity of Empire National Bank as lead sponsor for this event; the following sponsors have also generously recommitted support for 2013: Shirley and the Mastics Rotary Club; East End Sign Design, and "Shipmates."
